The Road to Possibility....
Starts with us today!

I know what this district looks like from the inside.
I've driven these streets. I've seen the faces of people who tried, really tried, and somewhere along the way, somebody stopped believing in them. So they stopped believing in themselves. I'm not going to pretend that isn't real.
But I'm also not going to pretend that's the whole story.
I grew up understanding that faith isn't the absence of hard circumstances. It's the refusal to let hard circumstances write the final chapter. I've built businesses in this community. I've stood in front of families going through the worst moments of their lives and tried to bring something useful to the table. I am a minister of the gospel at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. I am a father. I am a believer in the possibilities of Monroe.
And I am running for District 5 because I believe, I genuinely believe, that what this community is carrying right now is not its destiny. God has more for District 5, and he sent me to unlock possibilities.

"My daughter Glory had a 1% chance of survival."
That 1% taught me something I can't unlearn:
possibility doesn't need a majority vote to be real.
It just needs someone willing to fight for it.These kids have way more than a 1%.
They just need someone in their corner.
Before I asked District 5 to trust me with a seat on this board, I spent years learning how to add capacity to people ... in business, in community, in faith. Not because I had all the answers. Because I knew what it felt like to need someone who believed the answer was still possible.

Associate Minister
Serve in ministry because I believe people aren't just economic units — they are carriers of something sacred.
Here's what I saw when I drove through this district.
I didn't see failure. I saw people who had been handed a version of the story that wasn't true about them ... and who started to believe it because no one showed up to tell them different.
I want to be that different voice.
Not the politician who shows up every four years with promises and leaves with your vote. I'm talking about a school board member who goes to bat for teachers when the system makes them feel invisible. Who sits across from an administrator and says ... I see what you're trying to do, and I'll fight with you. Who looks at a C student who used to be in trouble every week and says: that right there is a win. Let's build on it.
I want to raise this district ... not to look like somebody else's district ... but to a standard of pride that is completely its own. Our strengths are real. Our people are capable. Our children deserve someone who expects more from them than their environment says they should have.
When a kid changes, a household changes. When a household changes, a neighborhood changes. When a neighborhood changes ... you know what happens next.
I'm Jeron Strickland, and I'm asking for your vote for Monroe City School Board, District 5.
